I have recently started a “diet”. First of all, I don’t believe in diets because changing your eating habits for a few weeks to lose weight is not the key to keep the weight off. One must change the way they look at food, totally.
About 15 years ago, I left the Ex. I cut off about 15 inches of hair and lost 150 pounds. I did a lot of yo-yo dieting and fads, but the one that worked the best was to just eat healthily. Go figure. LOL I ate real food closest to its natural form. I figured, if God made it, then it’s good for me.
Fast forward to now. I had kept the weight off BC (before Covid). Last year I put on 30 pounds and I hadn’t realized. I have been “plus sized” my whole life, whether it was just 20 pounds over weight, or 150. I’ll never be a twiggy kind of person, I can accept that. However, I worked hard to drop that weight and HOW DARE it return!
Due to other medical issues I’m dealing with, this is the first time I’ve had the mindset to deal with it. So I started Nutrisystem. The food isn’t always great, but it’s acceptable. For people who live to eat, this is not the plan for you. For people who eat to live, you’ll do fine. I was just sick of food. If I weren’t diabetic, I would have just fasted for a month or two and be done.
I don’t need any Lard on my current diet. However, I want to try and find the best stuff for me when I go back to cooking. I found this article I’d like to recommend if you don’t believe me. *grin*
Now I just have to find out where I can get pork leaf fat. PS. They say to make the leftover bits into crispy cracklings. ♥
