Black Friday

I have never been a black Friday shopper. I might have once or twice when I was younger. Crowds of people pushing and screaming doesn’t seem like my idea of a good time.

HOWEVER!!! Now that I can shop Black Friday deals from the comfort of my home, I did look to see what was being offered. That was a really bad idea.

I’m not the type of person that lives beyond her means. I have credit cards because you can’t establish credit without them and they want you to have FIVE! I remember what my Mom said about that after my Dad passed away and she needed to have credit in her name, “Well, that’s stupid.”

They had always paid cash, except for the house or car. She didn’t want credit cards but by golly she was going to have the best damn credit score she could….. and she did. She had a total credit limit of $80,000 and a zero balance.

Oh yeah, this is about shopping. While I don’t have my mother’s credit limit, I have cards that have a zero balance so I thought I’d buy myself a present.

I have been looking at getting a surface pro. But realistically, I don’t want to spend that much money on a little thing that will brighten up my dull, stuck-at-home life. The kitchen section was the second place I looked and “Oooooooooooooooooh!!!”

I don’t “need” new pots and pans but I’m always looking at them. I would like a smaller cast iron pan that won’t trigger my carpal tunnel every time I pick it up. Those fuckers are heavy! I’d also like some serving dishes, in case we can go back to entertaining more than 1 person at a time.

I saw this set and immediately smiled. I was going to get it in gray, but the picture of it in gray didn’t make me smile. The little voice in my head was saying “be sensible, turquoise won’t match anything”.

I told that little voice exactly what it could do with that information and this is what I bought.

Does this make you smile too?

Isn’t it pretty??? It’s The Pioneer Woman’s set from Walmart. I don’t buy stuff based on celebrity names. (Honestly, I find her kind of annoying.) I think it’s usually overpriced just because the celebrity put their name on it. But, sometimes a celebrity name can tip me over to purchase one over another if all the other stats are what I want. So this whole set on Black Friday sale was $69.99, marked down from $129.99.

But most importantly, IT MAKES ME SMILE!!!! ♥
